Purpose of Exams 

A.D.A.P.T. Tap & Jazz Exams

ADAPT examinations are available to all students of ADAPT schools. 

EXAMINATION ATTIRE:
Female candidates taking the examination must wear proper examination attire. 

Any student eight years and older wishing to be considered to participate in Jazz and Tap exams must be taking one or more Ballet classes per week.  Students chosen to participate in exams will be selected based on skill level, at the directors' discretion.  Those chosen and agreeing to participate in exams will be expected to take extra classes (usually on Sundays) for approximately 6 weeks prior to the exam date.  Attendance is mandatory for all exam practices.  There is an exam fee which is in addition to RSDA tuition fees.

Cecchetti Ballet Exams

EXAMINATION ATTIRE:
Ballet candidates must wear a dark leotard, pink tights, and hair in a bun with no bangs, and the proper ballet shoes. 

Any student seven years and older wishing to be considered to participate in Ballet exams must be taking at least two Ballet classes per week.  Students chosen to participate in exams will be selected based on skill level, at the directors' discretion.  Exam preparation is done in the student's working Ballet class.  Attendance is mandatory for all exam practices.  There is an exam fee which is in addition to RSDA tuition fees.

What is the purpose of exams?

Examinations allow students to accurately define their skill level on a global scale.

Examinations give students a goal to work towards and the chance to be marked by accredited examiners from around the world.

Exams are also steps towards teaching accreditation.

Examinations prepare students for audition settings.
