Canadian cities, A.D.A.

choreographers and teachers from New York and Los Angeles to your hometown. In a
jam-packed two-day intensive workshop, Extreme Dance offers the most up-to-date
and cutting edge material, with master classes in all forms of dance. Their
competitions showcase performers with advanced production and video/support
services. Extreme also offers convention and cash scholarships, as well as
specialty classes and forums.
IDO World Ballet and Modern
Championships and Jazz Cups in Niagara Falls, Ontario (2009) saw

U.S., and RSDA has travelled to Minneapolis to participate.
Lord
Selkirk Arts Festival is held in Selkirk, MB in April. Various
dance forms and performing arts are showcased, as well as class/workshops being
held for stage dance with voice, auditions, improvisation and choreography.
Manitoba Provincial
Dance Festival is a two-week long event in May where groups are chosen by RSDA to perform before a group
of judges from Dance Manitoba, and are awarded standings or medals based on their
performance. While groups from other dance studios are there to perform as
well, standings and medals are judged on their own merit, NOT compared to other
groups. That is, more than one group may be awarded a Gold or Silver award,
for example.
Triple
Threat Dance Convention is held in Winnipeg in late fall. This is a two day workshop
un
by instructors who have worked with
such notables as Janet & Michael Jackson, N’SYNC, and Ricky Martin;
some have even been in commercials for Gap and Sony and even in the Tap Dogs.
On
the first night students may participate in their showcase. Everybody at the convention
goes home with positive attitudes
and enjoys a wonderful weekend.
